
Mothers and Toddlers Group meets every alternative week in term time either at the shul or at an exciting venue. This is a great opportunity for you to meet other mothers in the area in a comfortable and safe environment. We have toys for the babies, tea for the mums and lots of fun for everyone ! Please watch the weekly Shmaltz newsletter for updates. We ask for a nominal donation at each visit to cover costs of excursions and entertainers. Children Services are held at 11.00am on Shabbat and most Chaggim (Jewish Holydays) at the Shul. Please look at the front page of the website for details of other children’s activities during the year.
South Hampstead Youth (SHY) is a vibrant youth programme offering a wide range of activities for young people between the ages of 12-18. It meets each Shabbat and on Chaggim (Jewish Holydays) at 11.00am as well as some weekday and weekend activities. South Hampstead Bnei Akiva is run on Shabbat afternoons by teenagers from the community for children aged 6-13. In a fun and informal way, we learn about the weekly Sidra (Torah reading), upcoming Chaggim (Holydays), or issues relating to Israel and Judaism – and play a lot of games! The Reading Group/Book Club meets every six to eights weeks at group member's home, to discuss a book previously chosen by the group to read. Books chosen have a link to a Jewish issue or are written by a Jewish author. All participants have the opportunity to lead the discussion and prepare a summary sheet, should they wish to do so. Friendship/Social Club for retirees meets on Mondays 10.30am - 2.45pm in the Shul hall. Starting with a hot drink and an exercise class at 11.30am lunch at 12.30pm followed by entertainment. South Hampstead Welfare - ‘Welfareworks’. Should you know of a family member, friend or a member of the community who is sitting home alone and would like some company every now and then, or any other assistance, please do contact us. We will arrange for a member of our Community who would volunteer their time and will only be too happy to visit and help out.
