Welcome to BabyiSH Nursery!
“Our mission is to blend the highest quality care with a warm and loving community environment reflecting traditional Jewish values.”
BabyiSH is South Hampstead Synagogue’s day-care centre for children aged 3 months to 2.5 years. The centre operates 11 months a year between 08:00 to 18:15, Monday to Friday. Full day and half-day options are available.
We are regulated by OFSTED and provide a perfect first learning and social environment for your child.
Our mission is to blend the highest quality care with a warm and loving community environment reflecting traditional Jewish values.
Here at BabyiSH we believe that by providing children with a secure and nurturing environment they can grow to their full potential. We provide the children with multiple opportunities to develop in every aspect of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, promoting the child’s independence, self-esteem and behaviour.
The children are supplied with kosher and nourishing food freshly cooked on site. Our staff can cater for English and Hebrew speakers. We also welcome any other languages.
BabyiSH is currently located at St John’s Wood Synagogue for the duration of our building works.

We were also very busy baking delicious Chanukah themed biscuits. Here’s a picture of our Chanukah wall display.

Registration fee and Deposit
The registration fee covers administration. The deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your child’s place. The deposit will be offset against your child’s last month fees, providing that 1 months notice has been given. If for any reason you withdraw your application to BabyiSH prior to your child taking up their place this application form will be void but no part of the registration fee or the deposit will be refunded regardless of the notice time given.
Fees and invoices
Fees will be billed on the first day of each quarter (Jan to March, April to June, July to Sept and Oct to Dec). You can choose to pay quarterly or in monthly instalments. We accept payment by cheque, cash or childcare vouchers (if applicable). Cheques should be made payable to ‘South Hampstead BabyiSH’ with your child’s name marked clearly on the back. Please note that you will be charged a full quarterly fee which includes periods when BabyiSH is closed for any part of the billing period e.g. Jewish holidays or Bank Holidays. You will also be charged if your child is absent through illness or family holidays.
BabyiSH is open from 08:00 – 18:15 11 months a year (closed for Jewish holidays, bank holidays and any other holidays listed on the BabyiSH calendar). We are open Monday – Thursday, closed every Friday.
Please note, a fee for late collection of £5 for the first five minutes and £1 for every minute thereafter will be charged for all incidences of late collection and you will be invoiced accordingly. Please note that your leaving time is the time that you leave the nursery & synagogue premises with your child. If for example a parent arrives at 6.15pm but remains with their child in the nursery while their child continues to play or the parent talks to a staff member until 6:25pm you will be charged a £10 late fee because our nursery and security staff have been delayed by 10 minutes.
