SHY Youth Director

I was born down-under in Sydney (Australia) and lived briefly in Stockholm before attending Yeshivat Eretz HaTzvi in Jerusalem on a gap year programme with Bnei Akiva. I studied law at Queen Mary College during which time I was involved with Bnei Akiva, helping to run weekly activities in communities around London and also running and organising camps. I even had the privilege of taking some of the current SHY members on their first camp not so long ago. Before coming to South Hampstead, I was the Youth Director at Lauderdale Road Synagogue.

SHY Youth Director

Born and bred in North West London, I left high school to spend a year studying in Israel followed by a year in New York City. After that I came back home to be a student at the Royal Academy of Dance as an aspiring dance teacher, and when I wasn’t doing that I was Mill Hill Shul’s youth director.

My favourite times of the year are the summer, winter, and spring holidays when I go away and run Jewish camps in different parts of the world. Many of the children in these camps have never had any access to a Jewish education, and their amazing experiences at camp leave them with a desire to grow, a strong feeling of connection to Judaism, and friends for life.

When I’m not being a youth director, at the barre, or at camp, you’ll find me rock climbing, roller blading, or eating cereal.
Don’t be SHY come and say hi! (Sorry, that was terrible.) But really, I can’t wait to get to know you all, it’s going to be a great year.
